1. Why do we need Bylaws?
Any organized group needs to know the procedures for getting things done. That is what the Bylaws give us!
2. Who can be a SUG member?
Membership in the SUG is open to all interested individuals. A person is considered a General Member of the SUG if:
1. They register on the SUG website, and/or
2. They attend a regular meeting and provide their contact details.
3. What is an Acting Member?
A General Member attains Acting Member status by attending:
Three (3) out of the most recent six (6) meetings inclusive or
Four (4) out of the most recent eight (8) meetings inclusive.
So, a General Member who attends three consecutive meetings attains Acting Member status on the third meeting.
4. What are the benefits for Acting Members?
Only Acting Members may vote on SUG issues, including in elections. Only Acting Members may run for an Officer position or be appointed by the Board of Directors to fill a vacant Officer position.
5. How do I know if I am an Acting Member?
6. Can my company or organization become a member?
Companies and corporate entities are not considered members. However, your company or organization can be involved by being a meeting sponsor! However, any individual is welcome to attend our meetings and become a member.
7. As a member, will my information be shared with outside companies?
We will never sell or otherwise provide your information to any outside entity.
